The Age, Period, and Cohort Effects on the Decisions of the Work and School Acitivties

The more important human capital investments for child and adolescents are formal education and work training. However, the life cycles events are affected by three demographic dimensions: age, period and cohort. The individual school history can to be impressed upon differents sub-groups of the same birth of cohort, different ocupational trajetories. The familiar background also to produces distincts hehavior patterns that define specifics groups of same cohort. This work will investigate the age, period and cohort effects about the child and adolescents decisions to work and study; don’t work and study; study only; and work only. The preliminary results indicate that the period and cohort effects are more solid than age effect.
